Image
“ When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal."  Napoleon Hill, author of "Outwitting The Devil," is a famous philosopher and an eminent entity in the domain of self-help gurus. He's also the author of "Think and Grow Rich," marked as one of the international bestseller of all time.  In his book — Outwitting the devil — Hill explains how a visionary purpose of creating and publishing a certain project, at a peak in his career, eventually and unfortunately began to fall out of motivation, focus, and grace. Due to heaviness of pressure and sheer despondency, he lost hope and belief which almost confounded him to a state of constant alienation. But fortunately for him, everything changed and took a good turnout the moment he found his "o ther self ." A major crisis that led to the murder of Donald Mellett, a journalist, friend, and potential business part...

THE DAY THE DEVIL DRANK WATER I've been hearing that the Devil drinks water but I never knew how real it was until I saw him drink cold water with my korokoro eyes. It wasn't funny. 😊 I visited my fiancé’s parents for the first time last week. I was really nervous, I wanted to do everything right so, I started writing down my ideas some days before. The gift to buy for them, the cloth to wear, what I'm going to say, etc. I was doing rehearsal like I was going for a seminar presentation.  I got to the house and her mum had already prepared egusi soup with pounded yam. Wow! The whole house was booming with the aroma of a lot of orishirishi that is in the kitchen. I felt like I was in for a really good time. I remember how my fiance had told me several times that her mum is excellent when it comes to hospitality.  Meanwhile, before I left the house I had consumed some hot beans and potato. It tasted so well I had to help myself with another plate to appreciate myself fo...

WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF PRETENDERS Dear reader, would you classify yourself as someone who is always real or as a faker? What I mean is, do you try to be “this person” to this person and “that person” to another or your lifestyle is consistent? Will Mr. A, B, C, D, and E describe you as an outgoing person, a giver and one who likes to help others or they will come up with a different description of you? It’s up to you to answer the question honestly. The concern is: Why don’t we ever try to be real? Like, say things the way they are, show ourselves the way we are, and let the world see us for who we really are. Why do we give a shit about people so much that we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to be real? You try not to air your opinions because people may say your view is different, you decide not to buttress a point because they may say “you talk too much. You don’t want to wear this dress because people may think this and that…”  How many times do we fake a sm...

MANNERS MAKETH MAN You are probably familiar with those words. I heard them myself some years ago while I was watching the movie:  Kingsman The secret service.  Anyway, that's not the discussion for today. Today's subject has been on my mind for a long time but I usually don't like talking about subjects around Love, dating, and relationships. I have my reasons sha. But today, I have decided to share a very vital lesson with you. I hope you get value from it and share after reading.  It amazes me to see how with our words we set our own world ablaze. We light our world (experience) on fire with our tongue. Ignorance being a major factor and of course, the "I don't care and I no send attitude." The attitude that boasts in its weakness as a strength. When you hear someone say, "I no sabi talk o, I rude gan. Mo baje, I can say anything cos I no send." Those are the people I'm referring to.I hope you're not one of them? 😒 Dear Ladies, let...

LETTER TO LIFE - The Fight is Not Over

Image
29th September 2020 The Universe, Planet Earth,   Dear life, THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER I don’t need to introduce myself because I’m sure you know who I am. I know you have no regard for me because you’ve beaten me up many times, and of course, you know all my failures and weaknesses. That’s fine. There’s just something I’d like to call your attention to. And that is to tell you what you don’t know about me. You see, the thing is… You got so used to me failing and falling that you didn’t take time to notice how much I have grown. You whooped my ass so bad a lot of times that you lost every form of respect for me. So, you despised me, you called me a nobody, you said we were no equal match so you took your attention off me thinking it’s all over. What you didn’t realize is that while you looked away, cheering the crowd and feeling proud, I was healing and putting myself together. You thought my downfall was a bed of comfort, you thought it was over for me. What you di...

FROM PAIN TO PURPOSE. 3 Lessons from the life of the lady who lived with her intestine outside her abdomen for 3 years.

Image
Hi guys, It's been a while I put up something here. I've been really occupied lately but I had to share this. So the other day, I came across a story. It's about a lady by the name Takeyiah Reaves. Her story is inspiring because its an example of what I call"Pain to Purpose." She turned around her story by finding purpose in an unpleasant experience she had. She was a victim of a stray bullet and she was (I don't want to say lucky) privileged by God to survive. And since her recovery, she has been involved with two nonprofit organizations: Bullets 4 Life and Wounded but Alive    Bullets 4 Life takes live bullets off the streets and repurposes them into jewelry for survivors or loved ones of survivors, and Wounded But Alive is a support group for female survivors of gun violence. She says, “I want to be known for helping people grow through things I had to go through alone, I want to spread love across the world, especially at times like this when there is so...

THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION. USE YOUR MIND!

Image
Today I want to talk to you about the power of your mind. Imagination is the ability to form a mental image of something that is not perceived through the five senses. It is a creative ability that can be learned. The mind can create a mental picture of something that has happened or is yet to happen. The beautiful thing is that with your imagination you can travel anywhere in the world with the speed of light without any obstacles; it can take you to the Future. “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”  -Albert Einstein. What is imagination, is it the same as daydreaming? Imagination and daydreaming are quite similar but here are the differences. Spending the entire day thinking of something impossible is daydreaming but thinking about an idea and then collecting facts to make it a reality is imagination. Daydreaming invites failure but imagination is the first step towards success. When you are imagining, there is a sense of aliveness and...
